Spinning part 2

I finally made it back to class this morning. It was better. I think learning to use the elliptical has helped and the bike was definitely not set up correctly the first time. Still having difficulties getting my butt out of the saddle, but at this stage, I think it's more mindset than anything else. I'll get there.

The 1st of my 4-Day Wins is complete and I'll call it a success - water and planning. My reward - which I'll try to get tomorrow or the next day, is a water bottle so I can nix Dasani and Aquafina.

And now that I think about it, the 2nd of my 4-Day wins is complete - logging and journaling. I did a good of posting on MyFoodDiary.com so I'll count that as the journaling and I logged. The reward - time on Ravelry. Guess where I'm headed next?

I also bought two health related books this week - Wini Linguvic's Lean and Strong - a strength training program for women. And a book called the Zen of Eating by Ronna Kabatznick. I was in the used bookstore yesterday looking for the last of Nora Robert's Sign of Seven trilogy - The Pagan Stone - and saw the Zen of Eating. It looked interesting and appealed to the part of me that is wanting more balance and peace with my quest for a healthy weight.

Refuse to Regain has two interesting blog entries - one about our mindset when it comes to taking advice about eating. I posted a very long reply about my experience at Emory while on Optifast. The other post is about the state of food in our country. I have only skimmed it, but will be going back for a closer read. This is one of my soapbox issues and I have to be careful to not get to caught up in it.

And just to make my life more complicated - I HAD to make this recipe I saw while at the beauty salon last weekend- Upside-Down Cherry Corn-Cake. It was supposed to be grilled, but I baked it. And I pitted 4 cups of fresh cherries. It looks wonderful - can't wait to try a small piece tonight. I'll be taking leftovers to the office tomorrow.

  1. I want some Cherry Corn cake too. Would you mind to post the recipe here?

  2. To be honest, it was quite awful and definitely not worth the calories or the effort of pitting 4 cups of cherries. But - if you insist, here's a link to the recipe: http://www.rachaelraymag.com/Recipes/rachael-ray-magazine-recipes/sweet-spot-dessert-recipes/Grilled-Cherry-Upside-Down-Corn-Cake
